New Releases for 2013 and 2014 – Part III : Free Nelson MandoomJazz

Dear Friends

FreeNelsonMandoomJazz SaxophoneGiganticus

The third chapter of the time-travelling adventures into our planned 2013 and 2014 release schedule, after touching the shores of Brazil and NYC (with Ivo Perelman’s ONE due out on October 1st 2013) and Mexico (with MOLE’ Trio’s RGB due out Mid November 2013) will bring us back to Scotland, the land of Free Nelson MandoomJazz.

Discovered by Eraldo Bernocchi, who will be producing their next album (to be recorded in Glasgow on the 6/7/8 of September), Rebecca Sneddon on Sax, Colin Steward on Electric Bass and Paul Archibald on drums offer us a very fascinating take on DoomJazz – one that is equally respectful of the tradition of Bop as it is of Doom.

Early December 2013 we will be unleashing their first two EPs onto the world, The Shape of DoomJazz to Come and Saxophone Giganticus, remastered for the occasion. The New Album will then follow mid/late 2014.

Mole’ return on RareNoiseRecords after their first album What’s The Meaning? of 2011 which we also talked about here in the recent past and which earned great accolades from the press

We will soon update you with exclusive advance samples of their new music and videos of their recent Genoa/Gezmataz Performance – for the time being you may enjoy videos from a recent live perfomance of theirs in Mexico:

New Releases for 2013 and 2014 – Part I : ONE (Ivo Perelman, Joe Morris and Balazs Pandi)

Dear Friends,

as the summer grows more heated and intense (but not here in Blighty it seems) we would like to share with you some of the forthcoming releases on RareNoiseRecords.

On October 1st 2013 we start with ONE (Cat. No RNR034)

ONE_600X600_72DPI

One brings together the potent forces of Brazilian tenor saxophonist and prolific free jazz icon Ivo Perelman, veteran bassist-guitarist Joe Morris (a ubiquitous figure on the avant garde jazz scene, making his recorded debut on electric bass guitar here) and Hungarian hardcore drummer Balazs Pandi (Slobber Pup, Obake, Metallic Taste of Blood, Merzbow).

With no rehearsals, no charts, no sketches or musical road maps whatsoever, the three risk-taking musicians entered the studio and made a joyful noise in daring, unadulterated fashion, pulling no punches while following their instincts from start to finish.

Fueled by the hard and fast beats of Pandi, who also demonstrates his remarkably versatile skills and keen listening instincts throughout the session, One is a highly interactive studio encounter that borders on the telepathic at times.

And with Perelman’s cathartic, Albert Ayler-inspired tenor sax blowing on top and Morris’ electric bass lines bubbling underneath, sparks ensue on this turbulent project.

Pre-Orders for the release – SINGLE VINYL 180gms / CD Digipack / HD .flac digital / .flac digital / .mp3 digital will start on the 15th of August.

Tomorrow we will speak about the following release, MOLE’ Trio (Mark Aanderud, Stomu Takeishi and Hernan Hecht).
